Upload your document

  • •Click "Send a Fax" and drag your file onto the upload area, or click to browse.
  • •We accept PDF and TIFF files up to 10 MB.
  • •Once your file is selected, FaxSmile automatically counts the pages and shows you the price before you commit to anything.
Tip: Need to fax a Word doc or image? Open it and print to PDF (File → Print → Save as PDF) on any computer or phone.

Enter the recipient's fax number

  • •Type the 10-digit US fax number (area code + number, no dashes needed).
  • •You can also add a "From" name — this appears on the fax header and helps the recipient know who sent it.
  • •Review the cost summary. A 1-page fax costs $0.99. A 5-page fax costs $1.39.
Tip: Double-check the number before proceeding. Faxes sent to wrong numbers cannot be recalled.

Pay and send

  • •Click "Send Fax" to open the payment form, powered by Stripe.
  • •Enter your card or use Apple Pay / Google Pay.
  • •Your payment is authorized (held) but not captured until delivery is confirmed.
  • •If the fax fails, the hold is released — your card is never charged for a failed fax.
Tip: You'll see live status updates on the page: a brief spinner, then Queued → Sending → Delivered.

Supported File Formats

PDF

The most common format. Any PDF produced by a word processor, scanner, or print-to-PDF is supported.

TIFF

Multi-page TIFF files are supported. Often used by scanners and document management systems.

Max file size: 10 MB. Color documents are automatically converted to black and white, as fax transmission is monochrome.

Delivery & Payment Details

FaxSmile uses Telnyx for fax transmission — an enterprise-grade carrier used by businesses, hospitals, and legal firms.

Delivery typically takes 30 seconds to 3 minutes depending on the recipient's fax machine availability and line quality.

Your payment is authorized when you click submit and only captured after confirmed delivery. If delivery fails after multiple retries, the authorization is voided and you pay nothing.

Payments are processed by Stripe. FaxSmile never stores your card number.

Fax History

Because FaxSmile doesn't require an account, your fax history is tied to your browser session. You can view past faxes sent from this browser — status, page count, cost, and timestamp — directly on the Send page. Clearing your browser data or switching devices will clear this history.
